WISE Member Benefits

Membership in WISE has no age restrictions.  "Senior” status is self-defined.


Privileges include registering for as many WISE courses per session as desired on a space-available basis; participation on committees; invitations to WISE special events and study/travel trips; use of the Worcester Consortium shuttles and libraries; WISE student ID card; and invitations to Assumption University events. Full-year members are eligible for elected office and have voting privileges.

Full-year membership (July 1 to June 30) is $300.00 and Half-year membership (July 1 to December 15 or December 15 to May 15) is $150.00.

Membership fees do not include fees for summer courses.

Half-Year Membership entitles members to all privileges of membership as listed above, including voting and committee service privileges, but not including eligibility for elective office. Half-year periods are July 1 - December 31 or January 1 to June 30.


A limited number of scholarships for WISE membership are available. To apply for a scholarship, send an email to wise@assumption.edu.

Ready to join?

Go to our New Member Signup page and pay for your membership with a credit card or check. You'll need to provide your email address, name, and other contact and answer a few short questions.  In a couple of minutes, you'll be a member of WISE.

WISE Activities

In addition to our courses, WISE has a number of activities that continue throughout the year. 

  • The WISE Movie Club is an informal group of people who gather to watch and discuss movies. See the WISE Movie Club page for news about upcoming movies. 
  • The WISE Book Club meets monthly. See the WISE Book Club page for details about current and upcoming readings.
  • The WISE Non-fiction Book Club, as the name suggests, is a discussion group for non-fiction books. See the Non-Fiction Book Club for details about upcoming discussions.
  • WISE Special Interest Groups  are led by a WISE instructor and focus on topics of current interest. See WISE Special Interest Groups (SIGs) page.. 
  • WISE and Assumption University offer a variety of free lectures throughout the academic year
